Dropped off two watches — one for the everyday care package and one for a mechanical tune. Both were done in less time than quoted. The only reason it's four stars rather than five is that I had to travel back to collect; not really their issue. Both watches are performing well. Would come back next time I'm in Chiang Mai.

I appreciated that Krit told me upfront when one watch wasn't worth the full overhaul cost relative to its value. Most places would just take the money. He suggested a more targeted approach that sorted the issue for about a third of what I'd expected to pay. That kind of honesty is why I'll keep coming back.

Found Chronova while spending three weeks in Chiang Mai. Had a 1970s Omega that needed attention. The communication in English was easy, the assessment email was detailed, and the overhaul was completed before my departure. The printed accuracy results showed movement within acceptable range for the calibre age. Very impressed for a studio of this size.

The Situation
1965 Tissot Automatic
A client brought in a piece inherited from a relative. The movement hadn't been serviced in over two decades, was losing roughly 8 minutes a day, and the crown was stiff enough to be almost unusable.
The Work
Full disassembly confirmed worn keyless works and dried lubrication throughout. The crown and stem were replaced with correct-era Tissot-compatible components sourced from a specialist Swiss supplier. Movement cleaned ultrasonically, reassembled, and run through three days of position testing.
The Outcome
Collected in 18 days with a full service history document. The movement settled at +4 seconds per day in flat position — well within normal range for a movement of this age. The client described it as the first time the watch had run reliably in living memory.

The Situation
Seiko 5 Daily Automatic
An expatriate client's everyday watch had been gaining around 30 seconds a day for several months. No service history available; client estimated it had been about six years since the last professional look.
The Work
The mechanical tune revealed the balance wheel regulator had drifted, and the movement lubricants were overdue for renewal. After cleaning and lubrication, a careful rate adjustment brought the movement to within specification. Timing machine results recorded pre- and post-adjustment.
The Outcome
Ready in five working days. The printed accuracy summary showed the movement averaging +6 seconds per day flat — a significant improvement from the 30 seconds on intake. Client has since returned for the same watch's next service interval.

The Situation
Two Quartz Dress Watches
A Bangkok-based client dropping into Chiang Mai for the weekend brought two quartz pieces — both had stopped, one had a broken strap pin, and both needed the exterior freshened up before an upcoming formal occasion.
The Work
Both fell under the Everyday Care Package. New batteries fitted with correctly-sized cells, the broken strap pin replaced, gaskets on both crowns inspected and refreshed, and cases cleaned. Water resistance spot-checked on both pieces.
The Outcome
Both ready the following morning, ahead of the client's departure. Total time on the bench was under four hours. Client was able to collect before leaving for the airport with two presentation-ready watches.
